Member Brenda Scagnetti of Clement Complete Organizational Services, LLC says, “Keep a donation box handy in your closet. Any item that you try on that is too small or you just don't like should go straight into your donation box.”

“Go through your clothing piece by piece, releasing any items you haven't worn in six months, don't feel good in, or just don't like anymore. Turn the hangers of the surviving clothing so that the top part faces out. As you wear items, return them to the closet with the hangers facing back in. This way, at the end of another few months, you'll see what clothing you still haven't worn, and you can let those pieces go,” shares Member Karen Ussery, Organized for Success.

Jacki Plush, of Clutter Cutter LLC considers, “Hang all your garments with the open end of the hanger hook facing outward instead of inward. As you wear each item, put it back with the hanger pointing inward. After a year or two, you can go back through the closet and know which items you haven't used. Consider donating those or storing in another closet.”
